Winning Gifts

How do points earn me gifts?
Earning points allows you to become eligible to win Mango Gifts, which are given out each week by raffle. As you earn more points, you reach higher levels or 'Level Up'. Higher levels unlock higher value gifts in the weekly drawings.

You can browse the gifts that you have a chance to win by tapping the 'Points' tile on the home screen. To see how many points are required for each level, and tap 'Info' in the top right corner of the 'Points' screen.
How do I enter the raffle?
You are automatically entered to win our weekly raffles as long as you've been active within the app in the past 7 days, and you have not previously won at the given level. Note that winning at any one level does not affect your chances of winning at another level.
How many points do I need to win a gift?
As soon as you reach Level 2, you have a chance to win gifts in our weekly drawings. The following table outlines the number of points needed to reach new levels in the app, as well as the gift values of each level.

How do I know if I've won?
Winners are chosen weekly on Friday. If you are a winner, you will receive a winner notification that takes you through the steps to claim your gift. Please note your phone needs to be connected to a cellular or wifi connection in order to claim your gift.
Can I choose my gift?
Yes! If you win, you will be able to make your selection among the available gifts. The gift screen you see after receiving winner notification will display the gifts that are available.

You can also browse the gifts at your level at any time. To see the gifts that you have a chance to win, tap the 'Points' tile on the home screen.
How do I redeem or reject my gift?
If you win, you can claim your gift by responding to the notification at the top of your home screen. Tap the ‘Redeem Gift’ button to make your selection among the available gifts.

If you do not want to claim your gift, you can tap the ‘No Thanks’ button on the left instead. Please note that if you choose not to claim the gift, you may not win again for that level. Not accepting a gift at one level does not increase your chances of winning at higher levels.
I claimed my gift. Where is it?
After you claim your gift, you will receive your gift info in your in-app inbox. If you haven't received your gift info after 24 hours, feel free to send us a note through the ‘Contact Us’ form in the app, or by email at support@mangohealth.com.
How do you choose winners?

Eligible users are chosen randomly for each level in the app. Winners are chosen weekly on Fridays. Not sure if you’re eligible? Check out the article, 'How do I enter the raffle?'

The number of gifts given for each level is outlined in the article, 'How many points do I need to win a gift?'

Note that not accepting a gift at one level does not increase your chances of winning at later levels. For more information, please visit our Terms of Use.

Setting Up Medications

How do I add a medication on an Apple device?

Tap the (+) pill icon button in the top right corner of the screen. Begin typing the medication name, and our database will auto-suggest names for you as you begin to type. Select the name of your medication, and our database will also suggest a 'Form' and 'Color' for you as well.

If you'd like to select an alternative 'Form', simply tap 'Form' and select your preferred option in the drop down menu. You can also select a custom ‘Color’ this way, and if your selected form is 'tablet', you can select a custom ‘Shape’ as well.

Tap 'Quantity', and use the keypad to enter the total quantity of the medication you have on hand. This will be used to give you refill reminders. Tap 'Dose' and scroll to enter the dose you take with each scheduled time. This will be reflected in your history, and also be used to give you refill reminders.

Tap 'Frequency' and scroll both the left and right wheels to indicate your schedule. Based on your entry, you will receive the appropriate number of 'Reminder' fields to enter the time(s) when you'd like to receive your reminder(s).

When all fields have been filled, tap 'Save' in the top right.

How do I add a medication on an Android device?
Tap the round orange (+) button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap 'Add Med', then 'Medication Name' and begin typing the medication name. Our database will auto-suggest names for you as you begin to type.

Once you have selected the name of your medication, our database will suggest a 'Form' for you as well. If you'd like to select an alternative 'Form', simply tap the suggestion, select 'Other' from the drop-down menu, then scroll and tap to make your selection.

Tap the suggested 'Quantity' field, and scroll to enter the quantity of the medication you have on hand. This will be used to give you refill reminders. Tap 'Dose' and scroll to enter the dosage you take with each scheduled time. This will be reflected in your history, and also be used to give you refill reminders. If you do not take this med on a regular basis, toggle ‘Take As Needed’ to the right.

How do I refill a medication?
When it’s time to refill, you will receive a notification at the top of your home screen. Tap ‘Refill Now’ to update your med ‘Quantity.’

You can also scroll to the ‘My Medications’ panel of your home screen, and tap the icon or name of the med you'd like to refill. On the next screen, tap 'Edit' in the top right corner, then adjust the ‘Quantity’ of your med you have on hand. Once you've finished, make sure to hit 'Save'.
How do I change or edit a med’s schedule?
Tap into your medication list, either through the home screen panel or the navigation menu. Select the icon or name of the med, and on the next screen, tap ‘Edit’ in the top right corner.

Next to 'Frequency', use the drop-down menus to change the number of scheduled reminders, as well as the following 'Reminder' fields to change the reminder times of your medication schedule. Don’t forget to 'Save' your changes when you’ve finished.
How do I set up an "as needed" med?
For Apple devices: Tap the (+) pill icon button in the top right corner to begin adding your medication. (If you're changing a scheduled med to an 'as needed' one, tap 'My Meds', the name of your med, then 'Edit' in the top right corner.) On the next screen, make sure 'Take As Needed' is toggled on, then tap 'Save' in the top right.

For Android devices: Tap the round orange (+) button in the bottom right corner to begin adding your medication. (If you're changing a scheduled med to an 'as needed' one, open the menu, tap 'My Medications', the name of your med, then 'Edit' in the top right corner.) On the next screen, make sure 'Take As Needed' is toggled on, then tap 'Save' in the bottom right.
How do I delete a medication?
To delete a medication, tap into your medication list. You can find this either on the home screen or through the navigation menu. After you’ve selected the name of the medication, tap 'Edit' in the top right corner, then the red ‘Finish Med’ button.

Note that deleting a medication maintains your history of it, but moves it to the ‘Past’ section of your medication list. If you'd like to keep your med as ‘Current’ but stop receiving reminders, we recommend toggling on “Take As Needed' instead.
How do I change an image for a medication?
We try our best to pick the right image for any medication or supplement that you enter into Mango Health, but we also allow you to customize the image for any medication you enter on Apple devices. (If you're on an Android device, stay tuned! This feature is coming soon.)

To change an image for a medication, simply tap on that med’s image from the home screen's 'My Medications' panel. Alternately, you can tap 'My Meds' on the navigation bar along the bottom of the screen, then the name of the medication.

Tap 'Edit' in the top right, and then tap 'Form' and 'Color' to customize your med icon. If your selected form is 'tablet', you’ll also be able to select a custom 'Shape'. Tap 'Form' or 'Color' to open the menu and change your selection. Once you have updated your icon, tap 'Save' in the top right.
What medications and supplements can I set up?

Currently, we have over 8,000 medications and supplements in our database. If one of your medications or supplements is not yet in our system, please contact us.

Setting Up Habits

What habits can I set up?

You can start forming a healthier routine today by setting up reminders to build the following habits: track blood pressure, stay hydrated, and record weight. (If you’re using an Apple device, stay tuned! This feature is coming soon.)

How do I add a habit?

Tap the round orange (+) button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap ‘Add Habit’, then select the habit you’d like to set up.

On the next screen, tap ‘Start’. If you’d like to rename the habit, tap on the name, then type the text you’d like to see on each reminder. In the fields below, enter your current and target measurements, then toggle ‘Reminders’ on or off.

If you keep your reminders on, use the drop-down menu next to ‘Remind me’ to input your schedule. Based on your entry, you will receive the appropriate number of 'Reminder' fields to enter the time(s) when you'd like to receive your reminder(s). When all fields have been filled, tap 'Save’.

How do I change a habit schedule?

Open the 'My Habits' panel, either on the home screen or by tapping through the navigation menu. Tap on the name of the habit you’d like to change.

On the next screen, tap ‘Edit’ in the top right corner. Next to 'Remind me', use the drop-down menus to change the number of scheduled reminders, as well as the following 'Reminder' field(s) to change the reminder time(s) of your habit schedule. Don’t forget to tap 'Save' when you are finished.

How do I disable a habit?

Open the 'My Habits' panel, either on the home screen or by tapping through the navigation menu. Tap on the name of the habit you’d like to disable, ‘Edit’ in the top right corner, then ‘Disable’ at the bottom of the screen. Once a habit has been disabled, you’ll still be able to see your history of it. If you'd like to keep your habit but stop receiving reminders, simply toggle ‘Reminders’ off.

Receiving Reminders

How are reminders set up?
Reminders are set up when you add a medication or habit to the application. You can choose how many reminders you receive and what time of day you receive them. For more information on how to schedule reminders, check out the section ‘Setting Up Medications’ and 'Setting Up Habits.'
How do I change my reminder sound?
To change your reminder sound, enter the app 'Settings' and look under 'Reminder Settings.' Tap 'Reminder Sound' and select each name to preview each sound.

For Apple devices: Once you've made your selection, tap ‘Settings’ to return to the app and you're all set.

For Android devices: Once you've decided on your favorite reminder sound, tap 'OK'.
How are reminders delivered on Apple devices?
Reminders are delivered via Apple's push notifications. To check that these are enabled and customize your reminder delivery, open the ‘Settings’ app on your device, tap 'Notifications', and make sure 'Mango Health' is listed.

If your device is running on iOS 8, you must actively give permission to receive notifications. For more detailed instructions on how to enable notifications on iOS 8, read this blog post: Mango Health on iOS 8.
How are reminders delivered on Android devices?
Reminders appear in your Android notification tray as well as through a Mango Health banner notification on your device's home screen. If you are using Android 5.0 (‘Lollipop’), notifications will also appear on your device lock screen.
Do I need to be online to receive reminders?
No, your device does not need to be connected to the internet or a wireless data service provider in order for you to receive reminder notifications. However, you do need to be online to set up reminders, as well as to enter medications or habits.
How do I stop receiving reminders on an Apple device?
To stop receiving reminders for a specific med, tap the fourth 'My Meds' tab along the bottom navigation bar, then select the name of the med. Tap 'Edit' in the top right corner, then toggle on ‘Take as Needed’ and tap ‘Save’ in the top right.
How do I stop receiving reminders on an Android device?
For med reminders: Open the menu and tap 'My Medications.' Select the name of the med. Tap 'Edit' in the top right corner, then toggle on ‘Take As Needed’. Don’t forget to hit ‘Save.'

For habit reminders: Tap 'My Habits' from the main menu, and select the name of the habit. Tap 'Edit' in the top right corner, then toggle off 'Reminders’. Don’t forget to tap ‘Save.'

Creating an Account

Why should I create an account?
Registering enables us to recover your information in case something should happen to it. For instance, if you lose or upgrade your device, delete and reinstall the application, etc. For this reason, we highly recommend creating an account. Registering also allows you to access and track your Mango Health information—such as your medication schedule and points balance—on more than one device.
Do I need to register to use the app?
You do not need to register to use Mango Health. However, registering enables us to recover your information in case something should happen to it. For instance, if you lose or upgrade your device, delete and reinstall the application, etc. Registering also lets you access your account on multiple devices. 
How do I register?
For Apple devices: Tap the ‘More’ tab in the bottom right corner, select ‘Settings’ then ‘Register’. On the next screen, enter an email address and password. Once you hit 'Submit' in the top right corner, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided.

For Android devices: Open the main navigation menu, and tap Settings. Tap 'Register' and on the next screen, enter an email address and password. Once you input this info and hit the green 'Submit' button, you will receive a confirmation email to the address provided.
Do I need an activation code?

We use activation codes for certain programs that we run with health care companies, or when we are distributing the app at certain events, such as charity runs. You do not need an activation code to get started with the app, and it does not change your chances of winning in our raffle.

Managing Your Account

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
If you are already logged into your account: Enter the app’s ‘Settings’, then tap on your password. On the following screen, submit the email address listed is the one you used to register with Mango Health. We will then send you an email with instructions on how to reset your password.

If you’re not logged into your account: Enter the app’s ‘Settings’ and tap 'Login', then 'Forgot Password'. On the following screen, type in and submit the email address you used to register with Mango Health. We will then send you an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
What is my username?
Your username is the email address you used to register with Mango Health. If you're not sure which email address you used to register, feel free to get in touch with us and we can check whether or not we have your email on file. You can send a note via the Contact Us form in the app, or by email to support@mangohealth.com.
How do I update my email address?
Enter the app’s 'Settings.' If you are logged in to your account, you will see your old email address. Tap on this, and enter your new email address twice, as well as your password. Once you’ve submitted, you’re all set.
How do I delete my data?
Before you delete your data, think twice! Please keep in mind that if you delete your data, your med history and points balance will be lost and unrecoverable.

If you haven't registered, enter the app’s ‘Settings’. Tap 'Delete My Data', then hit ‘Yes, I’m sure’. If you have registered, simply ‘Logout’ of the app. Once you've taken these steps, don't forget to delete the app from your phone.

If you had registered and would like us to completely delete your account from our side, please write to us via the 'Contact Us' form in the app. Note that for security reasons, we will ask for additional information to confirm your ownership of the account.

Tracking Your History

How do I update my record?

If you took a medication or supplement but didn't tap "I took it" it on time, you may edit your history to have an accurate record.

To do this, enter your app ‘History’, and then tap on any doses logged as ‘missed’ to flip them to ‘taken’. Please note also that editing your history may improve your adherence percentages and perfect days, but it does not affect points!

How do I record my mood?

Recording your mood after taking your meds can help you track potential side effects. It can also show if your medications are making you feel better or not. If you're on using the Apple app, you can track your mood and take notes. (Android users - stay tuned! This feature is coming soon.)

To do this, scroll down to the bottom of the home screen, and tap to record a mood. Select the mood icon for how you're feeling -- we hope it's awesome! -- and tap the paper (+) icon to type in any notes or any additional info. Don't forget to hit ‘Save’ in the top right when you've finished.

Earning Points

What are Mango Points?
Mango Points help you track your progress in the Mango Health app. Mango Health gives you points when you record all of your medications and/or habits for the day, on schedule.  As you earn points, you level up and unlock chances to win gifts. (See the section 'Winning Gifts' for more info).
How do I earn points?
You earn 10 Mango Points each day that you take all of your scheduled medications and supplements correctly. You can earn up to 15 points each day you stick to your habit schedule, 5 points per habit, up to 3 habits. In total, you can earn a maximum of 25 Mango Points per day.

To earn points, you need to mark “I took it” for med reminders or log and tap 'Save' for habit reminders on the in-app reminder window. You have up to 30 minutes before or 4 hours after the scheduled time to respond to reminders. It is an all-or-nothing system so if you miss any one reminder you don't get any points for the day.
Do more meds mean more points?
Unfortunately not - more medications do not mean more points. Every Mango Health user earns 10 points for each day that all scheduled medications and supplements are taken on time, regardless of how many medications and supplements you take.

Managing Your Inbox

Where does your drug information come from?
When you enter medications and supplements into the application we do our best to warn you about potential interactions with other medications. Our drug information content, including information on potential drug interactions, is provided by our partner Lexicomp, a division of Wolters Kluwer.

Lexicomp’s content is independently collected, validated, and published. Decisions involving incorporation of content are based on levels of evidence and peer-review consensus. For more information, please visit the Lexicomp website.

Remember that you should not rely on Mango Health alone to take your medications, and that the use of Mango Health may not be appropriate in all circumstances.
How do I delete a message?
If you're on an Apple device, you can delete a message by swiping left on the message, then tapping the red 'Delete' button that appears. (Android users - stay tuned! This feature is coming soon.)

Note that even after you delete drug interactions and information from your inbox, it will still be available for reference in your medication list.

If you’ve accidentally deleted a message with your gift info, don’t worry! Send us message with the 'Contact Us' form in the app, and we’d be happy to resend it to you.
